Mark received an honorable discharge on July 29, 2005.
UNITED STATES NAVY RESERVES
Mark was commissioned on May 23, 1993 into the US Navy Reserves as an Ensign/01 Medical Corps on a HPSP (Health Profession Scholarship Program).
After medical school graduation in May 1997, he was commissioned as a Lieutenant / 03 Active Duty and began his surgical internship at the Portsmouth Naval Medical Center, Portsmouth, VA.
In July 1998, upon completion of internship, Mark started Flight Surgery training at Naval Air Station, Pensacola, FL. He was then stationed with the HMH-463 Marine Corp Squadron in Kaneohe Bay, Oahu, Hawaii. His primary responsibility was medical planning, first aid and medical evacuations while on deployments, as well as medical troop readiness.
